| History | Zen is a grunge/rock band formed in 1999. Since then, in that short time, the band has grown, not physically, but mentally and spiritually. The 3 girls, Echoic, Apophis, and Xenoclea(unusal enough?), had a strange chemistry that made it possible for them to work together and grow together as a band. | |||||||||||||||||||

Zen has a unique sound that distinguishes them from the rest of the bands on the scene today. The music is simple, yet complex; meaningful, yet easy to understand. Since there are only 3 members, it is only possible to have one of each. One guitar, one bass, and one drummer. Zen's three members are a LOT more interesting than their names. Here are the bios: >~*~Echoic~*~< The youngest memeber of ZEN is bass player, Echoic. A native of Charlotte, NC, her influences include Billy Corgan, Kurt Cobain, Rob Zombie, and Shirley Manson. Echoic's hobbies include biking, white-water-rafting, mountain climbing, literature, and her music. Her favorite color is green. Her birthday is July 30th (Leo). >~*~Xenoclea~*~< The oldest, and considered by some, the WISEST, member of zen is the drummer, Xenoclea. She was born in London, England; and was raised in Florence, Italy. Her favorite color is silver. She celebrates her birhtday on the 30th of June (Cancer). Her musical influences are Nirvana and Bush. >~*~Apophis~*~< Aphophis is the smallest, shortest memeber of Zen. She was born in Venice, Italy; but her family soon relocated to New York, where she was raised. She graduated high school last year (1998). She enjoys painting, sculpting, rock music, and mythology. Her favorite color is blue, and her birthday is on the 12th of July (Cancer). She lists her influences as Third Eye Blind, Picasso, and Hole.
